Whoa, this card was thought out way too much for me....

I have been working on this card off and on since Monday and this is what it has evolved too.  I played with the size, the plan, the paper, you name it, I moved it around. I embossed the grass, then tore it, and sponged the edges.  I stamped the individual images, then cut them out by craft blade.  Stamped them again with patterned paper so that I could paper piece the images.  I then took the images stamped on patterned paper and colored them for shading effects with colored pencils, blending stump and baby oil.  I colored the skin of the two people with copics on my white paper.  I then cut out the patterned paper and pieced it together with the originally stamped on white and colored images.  I layered the grass and then snuck the characters in a different levels.  The three rectangular pieces sticking out on the sides were stamped with lotus blossoms and white craft ink.  I colored the flowers with a pink woodless pencil for detail.  I hope you like the overall effect.

This card qualifies for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 42 but I was too late with the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 18 as it was due on Friday but I will add it to their site anyway.  I am also entering it at Crafty Creations Challenge 56 - cut it out and pop it up.

I thought I would briefly show you how I colored with the woodless pencils on dried craft ink.  On the left is the stamp set I used for the bamboo and the chinese lanterns.  I inked up the bamboo with creamy caramel craft ink and stamped it on kraft paper.  You will need to let the ink dry or if you are impatient you can take your heat tool to it to speed up the process.  I then took the woodless coloring pencils and colored the right side of the bamboo with brown and the leaves two different shades of green to allow for shading.  I left some uncolored when I took the below picture so that you could see the difference.  After that I cut it out with a craft blade and popped it over the scene.
