Next challenge at Fairy Fun Fridays

Well Week 21 at Fairy Fun Fridays has a color inspiration challenge done by the picture shown under the sketch.  This image of a Lily from Prairire Fairy Designs was inspired by the picture of the flower, I used the rich tones of Elegant Eggplant, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White and Certainly Celery to bring it out.  I used mulberry paper for the soft wispy-ness of the scarf.  So I sort of used this as more inspiration than just the color.  Although the mulberry paper is very wispy there is a break between it behind the flower like the sketch from Mojo Monday 140 indicates.  I flipped a couple of the elements on the page to get the effect I wanted.  The challenge at Cute Card Thursday 114 was to use no designer paper, while at one time that would have been no problem for me I actually found it difficult this time.  I embossed the background paper and then rubbed metallic rub ons over the embossing to make it pop.  Delightful Sketches challenge this week was to use texture, acquired on this card by many layers, embossing, mulberry paper, ribbon, pop dot to raise circles and the pearl in the centre.  Spoon Full of Sugar's challenge 105 was for a celebration, what better reason to celebrate then for a birthday.

Finally a card for multiple challenges

It seems like ages since I made a card .... because it has, working extra hours, nearing the end of the school year (many functions), running kids to this and that.  Well summer has officially started, normally I am slower in the summer than the rest of the year but as the kids get older that changes.

Well I broke down and bought a few Magnolia Stamps, this being the first one I have used to make a card.  I am entering this card in Just Magnolia 55 - One for the Girls; A Spoon Full of Sugar 104 - cute and girly; Mojo Monday 139 - sketch; Tuesday Morning Sketches - favorite color combo and glitter.  I don't know that this is a favorite color combo but it is one I used to fulfill an old color challenge that I never got around to on time at Color Dare 65 to use Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze.  I thought what a wild and bright challenge so colored my image and then never got around to making a card.  I hadn't thought of ever using such a strong, bright color on Tilda's hair as I had never seen it before, but it worked for this challenge and hopefully we will see more of her colored with orange hair.

Lori, you would be proud of me other than the Whisper White paper I used to stamp Tilda, I only used one other piece of cardstock the rest is all patterned paper.  Quite the stretch for me.

Stamps:  Sitting Summer Tilda - Magnolia
Ink:  Tsukineko Graphite Black
Paper:  Apricot Appeal, Whisper White and a lot of patterned paper
Accessories:  ribbon, top note die cut, button, copics, blending stump, baby oil, coloring pencils, iridescent ice EP, white gel pen

Freesia in the Evening, Freesia in the Morning....

I know my title is corny, but we are supposed to get snow again tomorrow and it is my very chilly every morning this week.  My entry for the new challenge over at Fairy Fun Fridays this week was to use complimentary colors so I chose purple and yellow.  Who would have guessed I picked purple?   I used this beautiful digi image Freesia from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps.   I know I am early posting this but I have a seminar to attend to this evening and still have to finish my essay.  It also works for Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 95 - Easter and The Pink Elephant Challenge 58 - spring.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday 130.  Lori, are you proud of me I used 5 different patterned papers. LOL

Stamps:  Freesia - Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps
Paper:  Yoyo Yellow, Whisper White, unknown and SU DSP
Accessories:  scallop border punch, 3 flower punch, ribbon, circle cutter, pop dots, liquid pearls, blending stump, baby oil and coloring pencils

Covering all my bases with this entry

Well with this card I am eligible to entry many challenges, thankfully as my time seems at a premium lately.  The sketch is from Friday Sketchers Challenge 91, which worked beautifully with Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge of make a vintage angel Christmas card with a round focal point.  I hope oval works too.  I used Ranger Broken China distress ink and softened it with my aquapainter for the angel and added glitter and pearls for the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 92.  Topped it off by making it monochromatic for the Winter Wonderland Challenge 40 and tell me this isn't best suited to be given to a girl for Christmas so I am submitting this to Susie and Vikki's Christmas Card Challenge 6.
