Next challenge at Fairy Fun Fridays

Well Week 21 at Fairy Fun Fridays has a color inspiration challenge done by the picture shown under the sketch.  This image of a Lily from Prairire Fairy Designs was inspired by the picture of the flower, I used the rich tones of Elegant Eggplant, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White and Certainly Celery to bring it out.  I used mulberry paper for the soft wispy-ness of the scarf.  So I sort of used this as more inspiration than just the color.  Although the mulberry paper is very wispy there is a break between it behind the flower like the sketch from Mojo Monday 140 indicates.  I flipped a couple of the elements on the page to get the effect I wanted.  The challenge at Cute Card Thursday 114 was to use no designer paper, while at one time that would have been no problem for me I actually found it difficult this time.  I embossed the background paper and then rubbed metallic rub ons over the embossing to make it pop.  Delightful Sketches challenge this week was to use texture, acquired on this card by many layers, embossing, mulberry paper, ribbon, pop dot to raise circles and the pearl in the centre.  Spoon Full of Sugar's challenge 105 was for a celebration, what better reason to celebrate then for a birthday.

Stamps:  Lily - Prairie Fairy Designs, Vintage Labels - SU
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant
Paper:  Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White and mulberry paper
Accessories:  Elegant Bouquet EF - SU, metallic rub ons, pop dot, sponge, pearl, ribbon, punches, coloring pencils, blending stump and baby oil

Tickling the ivories...

The challenge at Fairy Fun Fridays Week 12 this week is to make an easel card.  I chose Tippy Toe Fairy.  As soon as I saw her I knew I would make the card to look like a piano keyboard with the sheet music in the background.  I used metallic rub ons on the Allegro EF to make it stand out more, add iridescent ice EP to her wings and popped her up for the dimension.  Cute Card Thursday Challenge 105 was to use dimension so my little fairy works.

Stamps:  Tippy Toe Fairy - Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps, Three Little Words & Sweet Little Sentiments - SU
Ink:  Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral
Paper:  Taken with Teal, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, Basic Black and Cameo Coral
Accessories:  sponges, pop dots, iridescent ice EP, copics, 2 oval punches, metallic rub ons, Labels One nestabilities and Allegro Cuttlebug EF

Makes me Happy

This card makes me happy, I used the leprechaun drawn by Dustin Pike for the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge #5 - St. Patrick's Day or feeling lucky.  It also works for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday 103 which is celebrations and the sketch is from Mojo Monday 129.  I used crystal effects on the gold and the buckle of his hat to give them some shine.

I think I will be happier when I am finished my university course, 1 month of heavy reading left to go.  I can't wait but then I will have my certification.  Too bad my course isn't completed until after the certification deadline for 2010, I won't receive my certificate until spring of 2011.  For any that don't know I will have completed 6 years worth of courses to receive my Municipal Administration Certification, basically it is the training required to be an administrator of a municipality, that would be like a county for the States.

Sweet Dreams Bedtime Bella

Well I lucked out again, this card qualifies for several challenges.  First and foremost, because I am an honorary fairy (lucky me), Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge 9 - to use the color green.  I love this sweet little girl all ready for bed.  I used the sketch from Card Patterns Sketch 53; added scallops for Digital Tuesday Challenge 48; it's girly for Simon Says Stamp Challenge; Delightful Sketches challenge is to be kid themed; and Cute Card Thursday Challenge 102 is Lucky Green.  Hmmmm anyway notice a theme of green this week in a lot of different challenges.  I colored her with the coloring pencil technique showed on Prairie Fairy's site as a tutorial, super easy and works great.

Here is my entry for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 40 and Cute Card Thursday 99 - In the Name of Love.  I have been making a lot of my cards with digital images lately and wanted to go back to a more traditional stamping for this card.  For the detailing on the side of the card I used die cut Tulipe - SU and cut it apart, layered them and embossed the top layer.  I also highlighted the top layer's embossing with metallic rub ons.

3 Challenges 1 Card

I have had this image printed off for some time just waiting for the right sketch which Friday Sketchers Challenge 87 provided this week. I learned this technique from Roberta (Prairie Fairy) it is using pencil crayons, baby oil and blending stumps. I love the soft look it gives this image. Once I colored it, I saw that it went well with Color Dare 53 and lucky me the image, the greeting and silk flower qualify me for Cute Card Thursday's challenge 97 "Bloomin' Gorgeous". A close up of the soft effect that this coloring technique gives.

CCT96 Challenge Entry

As I am lucky enough to be an honorary fairy on the design team for Prairie Fairy Designs and the theme for Cute Card Thursday Sketch Challenge 96 was fairies, it was easy that these went hand in hand.

I got the first chance to try out a new product to me called Twinkling H20's for her wings and used the Almond Beige tint. What a fun and easy product to work with. I don't use orange much as it is my least favorite color, too much of a reminder of when my Mom had it as a main color throughout the house (in the day), but I do like how soft and woodsy this card turned out.Stamps: Fairy good friends - Prairie Fairy
Paper: Garden Green, Whisper White, Soft Suede and SU patterned paper
Accessories: CTMH silk flowers, MS leaf punch, Sizzix Architectural Accents die cut, twinkling H20s, brad and copics

New Friend MM120, CBC24, CCT94 & CCC46 Challenges

This card is to be for my entries in the Mojo Monday 120 Sketch Challenge, Copic Buzz Challenge 24, Cute Card Thursday 94 and the Copic Color Challenge 46.

This card is nothing close to my norm, I really stretched outside the box. I have difficulty using much patterned paper although I love to see it on other people's cards, I struggle in putting it together myself. On this card, there are 4 different types of patterned paper.

Secondly, anyone who has seen much of my work knows that I love working with bold, bright, rich colors while this card is soft and demure. I hope everyone likes this attempt.

This cutie is from a new digital stamp company called Prairie Fairy that should be up and running by the end of this week. Stamp: Little Birdie by Prairie Fairy
